9. Repair History

On January 18, 2003 the aircraft was involved in a landing incident at Laconia, NH (LCI) at 1145AM. Weather was VFR and cold (+7F). Pilot landed on what was reported to be a sanded rwy and discovered too late that breaking action was nil. Resultant slide caused R wing to impact a snow bank and the nose gear to collapse. Aircraft recovered by Hov-Aire (now Great Lakes Aviation). Entire wing assembly was replaced with a serviceable unit from a newer Mirage. Lower cowling and mount replaced. Engine teardown inspection performed by Hov-Aire. New Rod bolts, lifters, bearings and engine hose kit installed. Replacement wing (with 1,942.7 hrs TT) was repainted to match rest of Aircraft.

Interior:

June 2000 Leather Interior. Two Tone Stealth gray leather sidewalls, window lines, Seats and headliner. Two tone dark Gray tweed carpet. Gray Cabinets, Excellent writing table, Re-webbed seat belts. 6 place The Boeing tan Instrument panel is clean and crisp with none of the typical smudging or wear. Interior condition is a strong ‘9’.

Exterior:

Painted June 2000 in Polyurethane featuring overall Matterhorn White upper and Wing with Aristo Blue Lower and Blue Gray Laser Striping. Stainless Cowl fasteners, Polished spinner, Glass is excellent. Boots have no patches. Wing repainted in January 2009. Overall condition of exterior is a strong ‘9’. There is neither erosion nor fading. Paint has high gloss.

Summary:

This entry level Mirage needs nothing to immediately start flying and provide years of service. It presents as an extremely attractive like new airplane. It has excellent glass, boots without patches, a decent avionics package, sharp interior and low time engine/prop. The damage featured the replacement of the components involved by the #1 Malibu repair facility in the world. This is a terrific Mirage.
